Cookie policy
This page lists everything talkzen.io stores in your browser. It is a short list, because we keep it short on purpose.
01What we mean by cookies
A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to keep. Browsers also offer local storage, which does the same job with a different mechanism and is not sent back with every request.
This site uses local storage rather than cookies for its own preferences, because nothing here needs to travel to the server. We call it all "cookies" on this page because that is the word everyone uses and the law treats them the same way.
02Strictly necessary
These are set without asking, because without them the site cannot remember the choices you just made. Under the ePrivacy rules they do not require consent.

Neither of these identifies you. They contain a language code and a set of true/false flags, and they never leave your browser.
03Analytics
Off unless you switch them on. If you consent, we measure which pages get read and where people give up, in aggregate and pseudonymised form. We do not follow you across other sites and we do not build a profile of you.
At the time of writing no analytics provider is active on this site. If we add one, this page will name it, with its cookies and their durations, before it is switched on.
04Marketing
Off unless you switch them on. Their only job would be to tell us whether a campaign led to someone creating an account, so we know which effort was worth repeating.
At the time of writing no marketing or advertising cookie is set on this site, and none is set by default in any case.
05The Talkzen application
The application at app.talkzen.io is a separate system. It sets a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and a CSRF token that stops another site from acting on your behalf. Both are strictly necessary and both expire when your session ends.
The web chat widget you can embed on your own site stores a conversation identifier in the visitor's browser, so a returning visitor keeps their thread. If you deploy that widget, telling your own visitors about it is your responsibility as the controller.
06Changing your mind
Use the button below, or the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of any page. Your new choice takes effect immediately.
You can also clear everything from your browser: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data in Chrome and Edge, Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data in Firefox, Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data in Safari. Clearing it resets your language choice too, which is the only thing you will notice.
Blocking strictly necessary storage entirely will not break the site — it will simply ask you about cookies on every visit and default to English.
